The power of a picture : " Napalm Girl " and " Abu Ghraib Torture Prison "

Along with millions of young Americans of my " baby boomer " generation I protested against the criminal war in Vietnam. I do recall the image of the " Napalm Girl ". The unprecedented migrant crisis is a hellish consequence of the greatest foreign policy blunder in U.S. history: the Bush invasion and occupation of Iraq- the perfect symbol of which-matching the " Napalm Girl "- is a photo of the " Abu Ghraib Torture Prison " there.
The U.S. government has no moral authority to deal with the migrant crisis. Our morally insane " war on terrorism " should be taken over by a United Nations police force.
I thought the one BIG LESSON of the Vietnam War was not to get involved militarily in the internal politics or civil wars on other continents.
We should SAVE these people by exporting the type of " Dollar Democracy " practiced in Washington, D.C. ? Bring them the wonderful All American -oh -so-democratic- rule of the rich ?
Ayn Rand as the savior of the Middle East ? To HER -a militant atheist - even I would shout " Allah is great ! ".
Malcolm X was right when he said " Show me a capitalist and I will show you a blood sucker ".
Not for nothing the " socialist " Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont is attracting enthusiastic crowds in the United States. But what is Bernie's " foreign policy " ?
Behind both shocking images U.S. imperialism and " The Arrogance of Power "
