Immigration crisis : Are we now a failed species ?

The humanity of an equation ?     I recall Isaac Asimov explaining how a simpler Calculus equation of exponential growth would predict unbearable and unsustainable world population increase in the 21st century. Even apart from this unprecedented migration crisis that equation-familiar to Algebra II students-is relevant today.
I fail to see how some partial differential equation can be mechanically applied to solve a profound humanitarian crisis.
The capitalist FOR PROFIT economic system limits the number of people who can be assimilated into any nation state's economy. The division of labor is based on what human activity is profitable-not what is sane and USEFUL.
A rational SOCIALIST planned world economy will not need the guidance of any abstruse mathematical equation to treat people with compassion .
An effective United Nations- a real world government- will simply outlaw war and civil war. And it will outlaw the capitalist profit system-the cause of war.
But if global capitalism endures, it will signify the failure of homo sapiens as a species. Are we now a FAILED SPECIES ?
To quote astronomer and humanist Carl Sagan with a bit of irony : " This is what hydrogen atoms can do after 10 billion years of cosmic evolution. "
