As a democratic Socialist
myself I am pleased by news of " far left " types rising in popularity
in mainstream political parties. Like the Bernie Sanders phenomenon in
the Democratic Party of the United States, Jeremy Corbyn's sudden
leadership of the Labor Party in Britain is symptomatic of an angry and
frustrated -and awakened- working class.
But both the Democratic Party of Sanders and the Labor Party of Corbyn specialize in misleading and betraying working class voters. The leaders of both parties are invariably very " petty bourgeois " and can rarely break from the smothering influence of ruling class made PUBLIC OPINION.
Above all, the very idea of SOCIALISM is attacked as way too radical not just for the present moment in history-but forever. The capitalist class cannot imagine a world in which it does not exist.
Does any rational theory of history deny the reality of fundamental CHANGE ?
