For weeks now he has been living out of his rental car with all his belongings packed into its trunk. Dave is in frail mental and physical health.
When I was a young man in the late 60s and early 70s a homeless mentally and physical sick old man , living in and driving a rental car, would quickly get the attention of PROACTIVE social workers here in Rhode Island.

Residents of Arlington Mass. Housing Authority buildings at 4 Winslow - 02474 have a legitimate ( class action lawsuit league ) as the management has hired an asbestos removal company that is seemingly clueless about this business. Five year resident David Nelson ( nee Gold ), APT. 410, has made himself voluntarily homeless in a rental car fearing the dangers of released asbestos dust.
Unfortunately only a few of the residents of this building have the vigor of body and mind to organize a collective protest.
Should not my now homeless 78 year old friend Dave not be rescued immediately by some agency concerned with the welfare of senior citizens ? He was able to stay at my cramped studio apartment in Cranston Rhode Island Friday , Saturday , Sunday , But he had to leave early this morning to return that rental car with a load of clothes and belongings in its trunk . Dave will call me late this afternoon to say what's up for him tonight .

Friend Dave's plight
I help Dave with his belongings early this morning. He must return the rental car and perhaps stay at a men's shelter in the Boston area.Before leaving Friend Dave asked me if I had any hairspray. I did not . In the driveway I gave him a promised $20 for gas. To which he replied:" Well it's better than nothing!".
I do think now it should be rather obvious that this fugitive from Arlington Massachusetts Housing needs emergency attention. Paranoid ( perhaps rightly so ) of an asbestos removal project at the 4; Winslow, Arlington Massachusetts building, Dave, who has other convoluted issues with the Housing Authority property management, opted for fleeing to nowhere in particular ( besides my place) in the soon to be returned rental car.
Friend Dave will call me late this afternoon to tell me what's up. It will take a social genius Houdini to solve his latest PROBLEM!
I did suggest the Red Cross disaster relief in Massachusetts.
Plight of Friend Dave
Dave takes at least 30 prescription pills per day. With high anxiety about losing this bag or having it robbed, Friend Dave carries this drab bag with him even into the Cranston Public Library and into Chelo's Restaurant. He does not trust leaving it even in the trunks of his car rentals.

While Dave was entertaining himself with You Tube music on his laptop computer he asked me if I was paying attention to the lyrics. Not at first. Then I was rather shocked as I never heard porno lyrics before. One reason Dave said he blew his two million dollar inheritance was his lust for the company of gorgeous sexy females , for expensive restaurants, and for sports cars.Sadly at age 78 the old hedonist Dave complained that women over 50 just don't turn him on. That feeling might be mutual at these barroom senior " get togethers". Of course in the long past MONEY always helped ( like displaying a wallet with $20,000 in hundred bills in it).
Update on my blog and Friend Dave's BIG PROBLEM
Steve , I was able to put voluntarily homeless Friend Dave up at my cramped studio apartment for Friday , Saturday , and Sunday. The last two nights were at least tolerable . Dave had to leave early this morning to return or desperately, to rent the rental car again for another week . His is a very convoluted PROBLEM indeed in this Theater of the Absurd . Just a hint of my ordeal helping him gather his belongings this morning . I offered him the shower but he was in too much of a hurry . He did ask if I had any hairspray . No , I did not not. He did leave a number of dental floss cleaners on my floor. I helped him with his baggage and gave him a promised $20 for gas . To which he replied : " Well , it's better than nothing ".
Dave must find a place to unload his trunk full of clothes and other belongings. Only THEN can he return the rental car which was involved in a fender-bender with an unmarked cop car. The rental office did not check his car insurance as he has none.
He was also concerned about the call to jury duty notice in Rhode Island . That only happened because his driver's license has my 75 Mathewson St, Cranston , RI , B216 address. I thought he was just forwarding his mail from his previous Cranston address ( a shared condominium near the ACI with a Mafioso character named Scott who once threatened to give visiting Friend Ron a " real haircut " with hedge clippers ) to my place .
Only a social genius Houdini can help Dave out of his latest BIG PROBLEM , Steve.
He was worried about leaving any of his precious possessions behind . After he left I noticed that Dave left behind his special " comfort pillow " for sleeping in the car on my couch .
