The American ruling class -which is mostly New Atheist- will object only to any honest socialist who dares to run for president of the United States. They will tolerate a Bernie Sanders but they dread " politics " outside the control of the two party system.
The patron saint of the New Atheists is Ayn Rand, author of " The Virtue of Selfishness ".
Recall the issue of a candidate's religious faith in " The Making of the President 1960".
