Not even phony " socialist " Bernie Sanders has any " MARXIST " program that conflicts with pro American militarism, pro-capitalism, and pro-Israeli Zionism. To be sure , Marxist philosophy is still based on OBJECTIVE reality and on a scientific understanding of the Cosmos, Nature, and human society. What remains after nearly two centuries as highly questionable THEORY is still far superior to the crackpot ideology of Democratic Party neo-cons pretending to be " progressive " politicians. Dramatic climate change has a 4 billion year history . The " Global Warming " Earth today was once " Snowball Earth " with no human beings around to mess up the planet. But it is true that global capitalism is now definitely poisoning the planet for US , homo sapiens , the human species. It is muddle headed to think that capitalist governments around the world can check environmental threats by ORDERING the capitalist class to put PEOPLE BEFORE PROFITS .
