Colt Gray's father arrested after mass shooting | FOX 5 News

How can the law redefine a child -adolescent as ADULT in special cases ? A child-adolescent is just that whatever horror he/she commits . Also, I question the father of Colt Gray being implicated in this mass murder. Again and again THE SYSTEM takes no responsibility for mentally ill people " falling through the cracks " As a longtime democratic socialist I am very familiar with Marxist critical thinking on THE FAMILY in capitalist society which turns this once primal COMMUNAL, very human institution into an isolated bubble, often petty insane asylum , or just mass producer of feckless neurotics. And the American psychiatric profession is complicit in equating mental health with conformity to " middle class " norms . While making itself inaccessible to ordinary working class Americans anyway. How many American psychiatrists - unlike socialist humanist Erich Fromm , author of " The Sane Society " ( circa 1955 ) - show critical thinking on our capitalist system ? No puzzle why middle class school kids turned " radical leftist " are referred for " counseling ". By the way, back in 1959 Life Magazine named " The Beats " " the only rebellion in town " . Also, around that time radical left wing sociologist C. Wright Mills was writing scholarly books on " The Power Elite " and the " crackpot realism " of the US military . Most college professors today are clueless about all this. As Karl Marx said way back in 1848 : " The ruling ideas are the ideas of the ruling class " . ["Beats: Sad But Noisy Rebels" Life Magazine November 30, 1959 [photo: Life magazine, November 30, 1959; Beats: Sad But Noisy Rebels; Site author's copy.] The November 30, 1959, Life magazine contained a feature on the Beats, showing their newsworthiness and the curiosity with which the majority viewed the movement. The magazine, circulation 640,000, accompanied Paul O'Neil's piece "The Only Rebellion Around" with a black and white photo, captioned "The Well-equipped Pad." Models were dressed in black and wore sandals. Props, labeled in the cut-line, included: espresso coffee, marijuana, bongo and guitar for "accompanying poetry readings." Site author's copy.]
