As a democratic Socialist I take offense at demonizing the word " radicalized "

What was COINTELPRO ?
Speaking about " terminology " I take offense- as a democratic Socialist -at this term " radicalized ". Any aging survivor of 60s anti-war protest would be proud to say that he or she had been " radicalized ". Back then( vintage year 1968 ) it just meant that you got beyond ruling class propaganda and were prepared to work for RADICAL social change-BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY , to quote the fiery Black Muslim Malcolm X.
The best and brightest socialists rejected the tactics of isolated terrorist groups( like the Weathermen ) frequently infiltrated by government provocateurs ( the notorious COINTELPRO scheme to destroy the Socialist Workers Party ).
Not every " radicalized " militant opponent of U.S. imperialism and STATE TERROR in the Middle East is a candidate for ISIS.
The U.S. " war on terrorism " is a moral catastrophe and a miserable failure. Try a little more JUSTICE in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria , and Palestine . That works better !
