I respect Bishop Tobin's principled-not hateful-opposition to gay
marriage. But Church and State can be compared to an airplane and
railroad train. Nobody should expect them to collide.
Oddly enough, the old Baltimore Catechism hints at a way to accept the new reality. The old religious classic insisted that the Catholic Church would recognize as holy NO marriage performed by the State.
So the Supreme Court decision does not challenge " holiness " in the world of Faith.
Also, Mother Nature does indeed veto same sex " mating ". No malice here. It just does not work !
The secular Supreme Court is not stymied by God's plan or Nature's. And it is free even to declare a big business corporation a PERSON.
If I keep mocking corporate America in my blog ( http://radicalrons.blogspot.co... ) , I might soon be charged with a hate crime.
