What does it mean if the American ruling class -the famous ONE
PERCENT- completely believes that the black Americans it exploits and
oppresses are EQUAL in every way to the white people it exploits and
oppresses ? Better times for all ?
For decades now one sided CLASS warfare has hurt black Americans much more than any blatant displays of racism. Many more black youths are murdered by killer cops under the banner of Old Glory than under the flag of the Confederacy.
These establishment professors are trying to separate RACE oppression from CLASS oppression. So in a way the white worker-if he is not very successful in American capitalist society- can only blame himself: he must be lazy and ignorant and shiftless because he is not the victim of race prejudice.
Socialists have no quarrel with affirmative action. But poor white kids have been invisible for years.
I would tell them -unlike this Brown professor- to get angry not at black people. No, get angry at American capitalism.
