Best symbols for capitalist state-electric chair and policeman's club-not Cupid

ISIS is also telling us that we must follow God. Any student of the history of socialism knows that this political ideal inspired the early feminists. And these early feminists wrote scathing criticism of " bourgeois  marriage " as a pillar of private property and social inequality. Engels wrote about the family as an isolated social unit that atomized the working class. He thought that socialist family would be more communal ( Read " The Origin of the Family, Private Property, and the State " )
No educated socialist will idealize and sentimentalize gay marriage. But it does prove that ALL human institutions are " plastic "; they change and evolve.
Engels would have thought it odd for gay couples to seek validation of LOVE from the state-which he associated with class exploitation and oppression. And pacifists have always associated the capitalist state with war and violence and intimidation of the working class.
The best symbols for the capitalist state are the Electric Chair and the policeman's  club  -not Cupid.
