A melancholy memorial field in Knightsville Cranston. In memory of Pfc. ...

I live in the Knightsville neighborhood in Cranston , Rhode Island. A number of times on my daily Twilight Walk I pass by this forlorn , abandoned , neglected playground dedicated to a local kid killed in the Vietnam War back in 1968, Pfc. Anthony J. Sivo. I read this news item from WJAR 10 : " May 23, 2023 - Sivo Park was dedicated to John's Brother , Anthony J. Sivo in 1991. Antony was killed in battle during the Vietnam War at 21 years old. " Sivo, I noted, was born the same year as I , 1947 . He was killed in Vietnam a few days before my 21st birthday. At the time I was protesting the Vietnam War at home like many more in my generation ( recall returning home crippled veteran , Ron Kovic of " Born on the Fourth of July " movie fame ). I had a letter published in the Providence Journal titled : " Dying for a Colossal Lie ". To this day I remain a democratic socialist pacifist. There is symbolism in the video - like the STOP sign . The spreading white crocus suggested an aerial view of any veterans cemetery. I thought the background music appropriate for my video of sad looking Sivo Park in Cranston. It is from the You Tube music video " Born on the Fourth of July- " John Williams.
