Does that Voice of Science egotist Neil
deGrasse Tyson deserve a Nobel Prize for his shameful role in demoting
Pluto ? The late great science writer Isaac Asimov wrote about Pluto and
its known moon Charon as " The Double PLANET ". Asimov clearly thought
that the debate over Pluto being a real planet was rather silly and
juvenile. And why insult the gifted astronomer who discovered it, Clyde
Tombaugh ?I live in proud little Rhode Island -the smallest state
of the United States. If Rhode Island is still a STATE , then Pluto can
still politely be called a PLANET. ( also named after the dark "
underworld " ).Mediocre astronomers and astro-physicists just
wanted a moment of glory making an orphan of little Pluto, banishing it
from the Sun's family.Old Italians on Federal Hill in Providence insist that you never insult a family member.I just entered a close up FIRST photo of Pluto- a beautiful WORLD now - on my blog.
