- I do see signs of Chris Hedges losing it . If you can't offer some realistic HOPE to the human race , you fail even as WRITER. If now Christianity and " liberal " capitalism and obtuse sectarian Marxism are equally discredited to you , why be a PUBLIC voice ( yes, MAKE A BUCK ? ) .
There might be some value in honest TRUTH SEEKING on a web site called Truthdig. But writers here begin to sound like second string applicants for New York Times jobs .
SOCIALISM as an idea on fire always has roots in the WORKING CLASS. And there it finds its vitality and optimism .
