America ripe for a THREE PARTY SYSTEM

I recall being assigned the famous " Communist Manifesto " for study in my high school days ( 1965 ) . Way back then I was convinced that Marx did cogently explain the nature of capitalist " exploitation " . The introduction - longer than the text - explained that the happy reality of MIDDLE CLASS America refuted Karl Marx's dark prognostication for the future of capitalism . A 1955 Life Magazine editorial sounded euphoric with optimism about the American Way of Life.

I recall a somewhat more appealing Elizabeth Warren ( circa the Great Recession years after the 2008 crash ) in TV interviews showing heartfelt solicitude for the American " middle class " in free fall .

But for the year 2020, if indeed SOCIALISM as an IDEA is in the air and on the air, no existing political parties - not any sectarian Marxist-Leninist-Trotskyist party, and certainly not the present day Democrat Party- can offer SOCIALISM a home base.

Think about " socialist " Bernie Sanders and billionaire capitalist Michael Bloomberg both running for president in the same party . There is something profoundly unprincipled here. The Democrat Party is presently as unstable as the U-235 nucleus. What political equivalent of slow neutrons will blow it apart ?

I think America is ripe not so much for socialist revolution as it is for a THREE PARTY SYSTEM . We need an American Labor Party - in social CLASS composition similar to the British Labor Party.

" Socialist " Bernie Sanders can be a catalyst here . Or we will once again hear him abjectly endorsing in the Democrat Party 's 2020 nominee ( Joe Biden, Michael Bloomberg ? ) :

BOTH American capitalism and American imperialism and quite possibly another stupid endless war in the Middle East or even nuclear World War III with EVIL Russia, or EVIL China, or EVIL Iran , or war with some Pentagon ENEMY of the month ( try Venezuela or Cuba or Iraq or Syria ) .

And " socialist " Democrat Bernie Sanders will merely look older and more pathetic.
