Letter: Kathrine Cook: Trump is just continuing his same old bad behavior

There is a real danger of a fascist movement in the United States - the consequence of a general crisis of capitalism . This nightmare was foreseen by socialist writer Jack London in his novel " The Iron Heel " published more than a century ago . At the time, in the " Progressive Era, " this country had a vigorous socialist movement inspired by the radical voices of people like Eugene V. Debs and the champion of striking coal miners , Mother Jones. 

But smearing President Donald Trump as a KKK type racist or an anti-Semitic Nazi is nothing less than a BIG LIE serving the corrupt and pseudo- liberal , increasingly ILLIBERAL Democratic Party. 

Trump has been a media celebrity for decades now. Why was no evidence ever presented to " unmask " him as an incorrigible bigot ? Even a homophobe ? How can an anti-Semite be so popular in Israel ? 

Meanwhile " political correctness " - as vicious as the Gestapo - is ruining the lives of many decent citizens - conservative, liberal , moderate. Working class socialists reject petty bourgeois " identity politics " - with its bastion on the Brown University campus.Maybe they should give it back to the American Indians ? Or to the Great Spirit ?
