As
a democratic Socialist myself (nobody's " organization man " ) I am
pleased by the Bernie Sanders moral victory in Iowa. Oddly enough, many
democratic socialists-like many conservative voters- are sick of the
neo-liberal " identity politics " : Race, gender, and sexual orientation
issues- as social justice issues- are inseparable from " class struggle
" issues. True economic democracy would solve many seemingly private
miseries. And economic democracy has its very own-near pacifist-foreign
policy-worthy of A.J. Muste ( author of " Who has the Spiritual Atom
Bomb ? " ) .
The results of the Iowa primary show a profound crisis of the two party system. Many democratic Socialists think Bernie Sanders would -in the long run - be more effective as a guiding light in the American equivalent of the British Labor Party. But " progress " is progress. Is Hillary " progress " ?
