It
is dishonest for any leader in the region to single out Russia for the
human catastrophe of Syrian refugees. The U.S. led " war on terrorism "
is nothing more than a phony cover for the New Colonialism in the
Middle East. As Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont said, the U.S.
invasion of Iraq was the greatest foreign policy blunder in its history.
For months now the U.S. led coalition has been gang banging , gang
bombing Syria. Is that any way to stop terrorism ?
Working class Americans will certainly condemn our imperialist war crimes in the Middle East. It is the United States that should leave the region -OUT NOW !- " in embarrassment " . Expect a revival of the anti-war movement.
I hope Bernie Sander's " political revolution " includes a saner, non-belligerent foreign policy .
A new addition of Senator William J. Fulbright's book " The Arrogance of Power "( 1965 ) should be published- with an added chapter on the disastrous- failed- invasions and occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan in the New American Century. " Mission accomplished " - President George W. Bush .
No more Vietnams ?
