@Ralph
Mace... On 630 WPRO radio this morning Scott Avedisian seemed to show a
" blame the victim " attitude in this RIPTA bus tragedy. To be sure, we
need a lot more FACTS here.
Would the RIPTA chairman of the board have had a different tone had the victim lived on the more affluent East Side ? These people can afford the best lawyers.
By the way, I am a RIPTA regular. I see a few things.

@Ernie
Zielinski That poor woman who was CRUSHED should have taken a RIPTA
passenger training course at CCRI-for two college credits? Since when
should RIPTA encourage a callous attitude in its drivers toward
difficult passengers
Woman injured by RIPTA bus in Providence in 'tough, tough shape'
@Pam
I am a RIPTA regular. And you are so right. But the bus drivers must
be permitted to exercise their own judgment in any particular situation.
I can see an immediate effort to BLAME THE VICTIM here. That poor young
woman nearly crushed to death under the Broad Street bus.
" Eyewitnesses said the woman was trying to get on the bus when she was hit. "
“We were sitting there waiting for the bus, the bus driver stopped before it so she didn’t see it at first, but when he started to leave she got up and put her finger up, saying ‘stop, let me on, because you’re not even at the bus stop yet so you have to let me on,'” June Vargas recalled. “So she knocked on the door, he hit the gas, and I guess the pressure from underneath spun her around.”
“She was banging on the bus so she could get on, and he just kept going slowly and then he ran right over her, and he had to stop because everyone was screaming,” said Pauline Goss, who had just gotten off the bus... "
This from WPRI news. Sounds rotten . Justice for 31 year old Bobbie Moore !
