A perfect example of this was our Rhode Island Congressman David Cicilline. Interviewed on local TV : Would he categorize China and Russia as " enemies " ? Cicilline was ambiguous about China but quite definite about Russia harming " OUR interests " all around the world .
I am not so sure that Congressman David Cicilline's embrace of the New McCarthyism is all that popular to frustrated working class voters.
All the Rhode Island Democrats up for re-election in two weeks are solidly supportive of their Governor Gina Raimondo - who has been LEADING the attacks on the poor, the elderly , the working class in Rhode Island ( and -of course - with the support of corrupt labor unions ).
And yet the Republican campaign ads on radio and TV warn of a SOCIALIST conspiracy led by these very same " liberal " Democrats.
A true Theater of the Absurd- Rhode Island politics .
