Hi Tom. Right after I got the good news phone call from DHS from 401-415-8597 at 3:02 pm I got another call from DHS ( October 16 ) at 401-415-8597 at 3:55 pm contradicting the first call and saying that I was only owed $20 in SNAP benefits . Then she seemed to hang up on me. BUT later the second caller called me back thinking I had hung up on HER . Anyway she then CONFIRMED the first very polite caller who talked about their dastardly computer system . The second caller attributed the error to HUMAN mistake : YES in block instead of NO on the question of heat and electricity bills . The second caller definitely states that my $192 in benefits was restored.
God help all the others who have to deal with ADVANCED computer technology or just bureaucratic idiocy.
I am still not sure what I will get in SNAP funds on November 1 . Looks POSITIVE for now .
Thank you again, Ron Ruggieri, Randall Manor, B216, Cranston
