News tip or old news ? Why were senior citizens living on fixed social security incomes at the Cranston Housing Authority suddenly told this weekend by calls from DHS ( humorously called the Department of Human Suffering by local radio personality Gene Valicenti , 630WPRO ) that their SNAP benefits will immediately ( November 1 ) be cut nearly in half ? The ridiculous excuse being that their rental payments already include HEAT & ELECTRICITY . That is exactly why we qualify for and get into public housing ! Seven years ago my rent included HEAT & ELECTRICITY . Same with my neighbors at Randall Manor .
To go from nearly $ 190 in SNAP benefits to $109 is an unfair and unjust economic shock . WHO authorized this sneak attack on poor people and the elderly in Rhode Island ? Governor Gina Raimondo up for re-election in a few weeks ? Shame on " Wall St. Gina " - LIBERAL Democrat ?
