Governor Raimondo's latest sneak attack on the elderly

Subject: Has Providence Journal covered shocking SNAP cutbacks for the elderly ?

Dear Mr. Rosenberg ,  this state office ( 401-415-8597 ) has been telling senior citizens living in apartments under the Cranston Housing Authority - re-applying for SNAP benefits-that these benefits will soon be cut nearly in half as their rent already includes HEAT & ELECTRICITY . And we are just supposed to accept this cruel notice like drugged animals in a zoo ?

.  This is a ridiculous excuse for a sudden and sneaky economic massacre of senior citizens living in public housing . I assume the new policy ( no PUBLIC hearings , no public protest, no right to appeal ) is state wide .  And how smart of " Wall St. Gina " just a few weeks before the midterm elections ?

I have read NOTHING about this in Providence Journal . Please correct me if I am mistaken here.

[ I have forwarded this letter to the  World Socialist Web Site ]

UPDATE : Providence Journal chief editor Alan Rosenberg responded to my news tip and said the newspaper is checking out this story . Why does the state hire individuals who speak broken English over the phone - on a Saturday ! - to interview the client - for such a vital concern ? " Do they think we in public housing will accept such bad news like drugged animals in a zoo ? " , I asked . No appeal, no public debate, no protest , no STORY ! No, let us seniors worry about " Russia collusion " and the sins of young Brett Kavanaugh at a drunken house party 36 years ago !STAY TUNED FOR THE REST OF THE STORY.
