World Socialism will abolish the nation state

   In a sense Donald Trump's position on illegal immigrants makes perfect sense from the definition of the nation state. But nation states for several centuries now have been artificial political constructions. Karl Marx said way back in1848 in his famous " Communist Manifesto " that the workers of the world have no country. This is not nonsense-even though two world wars seem to contradict it.
As UTOPIAN as it may sound thoughtful socialists still believe that a world without nation states is very possible. No obvious nation states are visible from the moon. When humans finally landed on the moon in 1969 the REVELATION was: The Good Earth- a UNIT-BIOSPHERE- a beautiful blue-green gem of a planet.
I can imagine a Socialist Future in which there is simply an equilibrium of immigration and emigration of the world's present nationalities.
Today's NATION STATE should be no more than a memory in the Museum of World History.
So for every Jose coming here from Mexico there will be a Mike going to Mexico from the United States- and all with different purposes. I would go there just to meet this guy named " Speedy Gonzales " in the Pat Boone song.
