As a citizen of Rhode Island I can only respect Lincoln Chafee's
-mostly scorned here--" progressive " presidential campaign-- now
competing with that " progressive " superstar, Senator Bernie Sanders of
Vermont.
I recall Chafee's principled opposition to the Iraq War, to the death penalty, his fervor for separation of church and state.
Since this " socialist " Sanders voices many of Chafee's own progressive views why not just HELP BERNIE win in New Hampshire ? A Sanders win there would send shock waves through the rotten political system. The U.S. ruling class imagines it can just hand the voters a Hillary vs. Jeb Bush contest in Election 2016- a soporific horror.
I still think Ralph Nader is a bolder " radical " than Bernie Sanders. Pay attention to progressive third parties. There might be a real Socialist party out there.
