A computer technician was a victim of Mayor Fung and his out of
control police department. The man had a view of the police consistent
with the " Officer Friendly " propaganda of his elementary school days: "
I thought the police were supposed to serve and protect, not threaten
or abuse power ".
The truth and the Big Picture is very different. Lawless police are in the headlines almost daily now. They serve as on the spot executioners for young black Americans " guilty " of rather minor violations of sacrosanct private property rights. Why waste money on judges, lawyers, and prison time ?
An honest cop will just do his job and thereby protect the rich. A dishonest cop will protect the rich and also enrich himself by also serving directly corrupt politicians.Most cops have that very sense of entitlement that Talk Radio reactionaries attribute to minority " welfare queens ".
Perhaps " socialist " Bernie Sanders can reform the police: make them redistribute ruling class wealth -just include the rest of us.
