What about the right NOT to be homeless ?
I find it ironic that our Homeless Bill of Rights not does establish
the right NOT to be homeless. Is not the state just as heartless as the
drunken John Sommer ? Did anybody direct that woman living in her van
to a " safer " homeless shelter ? A homeless friend ( homeless no longer
) preferred living in his car to this Cranston shelter off Pontiac
Ave.
The reason our homeless problem persists is that our
capitalist society considers PRIVATE PROPERTY sacrosanct. Rent control
might help !
