If George Orwell- a democratic socialist-were around today, he would not fail to observe that neither the establishment Left nor the establishment Right has that Enlightenment era love of free speech and free thought. The fear of THE TRUTH is making it an orphan in the 21st century.
I don't like reading about any conservatives or liberals losing their jobs over something they said. Radicals hardly expect to be employed anywhere for any length of time.
Modern science would be impossible without freedom to THINK and publish what you think.
