It does seem to me that this Celebrity Scientist Cult has joined forces with the New Atheism in promoting a snobbish contempt for the world's MILLIONS of religious people, Catholic, Protestant, Islamic, Orthodox Jewish.
They make once so respected SCIENCE seem as biased and half-cracked as those old Kevin Trudeau late night infomercials . Last time I checked this convicted swindler was still in jail.
Long ago , out of his later years, the great scientist Albert Einstein observed that scientists had lost their precious INDEPENDENCE .
They were now owned by the military industrial complex, by Corporate America, by universities, by strikingly intellectually dishonest BIG SCIENCE itself.
BIG SCIENCE was now too arrogant to tolerate Einstein 's God . It preached the universe from NOTHING . Now religious minded humanity should genuflect before the " God Particle " and the first real live picture of a Black Hole ( what hype , what did they expect it would look like ? )
From such NOTHINGNESS emerged the universe, the galaxies, our Solar System , the Good Earth , humanity triumphant , and the adoring Madonna with Child.
Even celebrity scientist Neil De Grasse Tyson could not resist mocking Christmas and ridiculing the ancient Catholic veneration of the Holy Eucharist.
The End of Science ? I wonder. Not for nothing scientists are losing public esteem - as they act like politicians.
