Scientists should not laugh at Plato's Idealism ( miracle in Newport church )

Plato's cave and spiritual reality

Just rust ? But if the priest thinks it's a SIGN , the substance of the stain is irrelevant. The famous physicist George Gamow wrote in his biography that he ( as a kid ) concluded Holy Communion was a pious hoax after examining a host under a microscope and finding nothing non-material there. Yet the genius Albert Einstein was fascinated by the Catholic doctrine of the Holy Eucharist.Clearly Einstein would never have searched for the Face of God with a telescope. And I would never have searched for his genius with a bit of his brain tissue under a microscope.
The great scientist Louis Pasteur was always viewing earthly wonders under a microscope. This never undermined his Catholic faith.Philosophers should not laugh at Plato's Idealism. Our moral imagination is stupefied by the tyranny of eternal matter in motion as the ultimate reality. There remains always a MYSTERY .
Down to earth we will stick to our wonderful Periodic Table.
