No astronomer objects to the free speech rights of astrologists- in Horoscopes

  Science literate Rhode Island voters should be rather proud of Senator Sheldon Whitehouse-at least in this very serious matter of human caused global climate change. Scientific truth is not established by consensus or loud applause at scientific meetings. Darwin's theory of evolution was confirmed by massive evidence, the scientific method, the research of hundreds of biologists for many decades now.
The case against cigarette smoking was settled by scientific research-not by the internal politics of scientific organizations.
No astronomer objects to the free speech rights of astrologists or the right of newspaper owners to print horoscopes. But the editors must not insist that pseudo-science get a fair hearing in the science class room.
That is the Honorable Senator Sheldon Whitehouse's position on FREE SPEECH and global warming. The arrogance of the man !
