As a " socialist " this French President must have had -at least in a more idealistic youth- some sense of the moral farce behind most 20th century wars. The fatuous " war on terrorism " -is not much different in its breath- taking, patriotic flatulence- from Great War that began more than 100 years ago- the war to make the world safe for democracy. Oh the glory of that smelly battlefield of Verdun - a mountain of screaming skeletons still buried there. Here the HONOR OF FRANCE was defended .
Jeb Bush -of the beloved Bush family- just said that this was the war for our time. " We will be merciless ", says the French president.
All this Wilsonian blather from the political lackeys of global capitalism and arrogant imperialism. Let working class people decide just who are THEIR enemies. Then we might have a true war for democracy.
George W. Bush started an endless war on terrorism at the beginning of the new millennium . Just WHO are the terrorists ? Did we not create them with our criminal wars, occupations, invasions ?
