There has been a lot of reactionary revisionist history of World War I in recent years. Are the ruling classes preparing a similar Great War , a war to make the world " safe for democracy " ?
To be sure, the top American military leaders advising President Donald Trump are not less stupid than the French and German generals who master-minded the " Horror of Verdun ".
Will they soon make chemical and poison gas warfare as acceptable as " tactical nuclear weapons " ?
Of course, THE PEOPLE can just say NO ! . Try junking the war machines of all nation states ? So many " liberal " Democrats are besotted-not appalled- by the permanent existence of the " military industrial complex " against which we were warned by no less a general than President Eisenhower.
When was the last time you heard any " liberal " Democrats ( all warriors against racism and sexism - mostly where it is not ) sound like 1960s era pacifists ? Pure pacifism might be naïve -as Albert Einstein and Bertrand Russell discovered during World War II - but at least their hearts were in the right place .
