There is need of some real soul searching in prominent Jewish public intellectuals - many of whom in their youth were supporters of socialist internationalism : Does Zionism really protect the Jewish people from anti-Semitism or does present day Zionism - excusable if wrong headed after World II and the Holocaust - only rekindle it ?
Any nation state that FAVORS a particular ethnic group fails even at the level of bourgeois democracy .
Christianity is still the prevailing religion in the United States. But neither Catholic nor Protestant religious institutions-with any claim on the faithful - are plotting to unite Church and State. And in no way can Christianity be associated with " White Supremacy ".
A secular , non -Zionist State of Israel will make life safer and saner for both Jews and Palestinians . And it will undermine Islamic religious fanaticism. But who listens to REASON nowadays ? Only those pernicious socialists ?
