"There is no way forward for working people through the Democratic Party. " This was so true more than a century ago when REAL socialist Eugene V. Debs was making his famous " Canton Speech " protesting the Great War to make the world safe for democracy .
In order to make irrational capitalism functional the ruling class, in control of the education system, must succeed in stupefying the best and the brightest , to cripple their ability to see THE SYSTEM for the monster that it is.
Their professional cretinism is on display when they subscribe to the New York Times in the snobby conviction that this is the last word in political wisdom and sophistication. Have they swallowed every prejudice against socialism - which, of course, is always the ENEMY OF FREEDOM and CAN'T WORK ?
ALL the editorials and columns in major newspapers -even most of their letters-to-the editor - are screened for basic conformity to ruling class ways of thinking.
But in the last two decades the American ruling class has cultivated the most servile and docile " intellectual class " in human history. What a disgrace these bought and sold " pundits " .
Ubiquitous " Talk Radio " , for example, is invariably and sickeningly far right , sounding like voices from Orwell's " 1984 " Ministry of Truth.
Hollywood could use another Charlie Chaplin and a remake of " Modern Times ".
Nowhere a hint of skepticism about Pentagon war plans for the coming Great War- TRULY a war to end all wars !
