The conservative Republicans can be keen about sniffing out " wasteful government spending " . But they don't see the Big Picture of the insane economic inequality, the natural result of the capitalist profit system. They would like to see Providence, Rhode Island put on corporate " discipline " -like Flint, Michigan. Look what happens there with Corporate Wisdom taking charge of a " bankrupt " city: thousands of children have lead poisoning from the toxic Flint River- made toxic by General Motors. Just to save a few million bucks !
You need a CLASS perspective on " wasteful government spending ". It was indeed wasteful for the government to " save " the banks in 2008 because they were " too big too fail ".
