" One hundred years after Luxemburg’s death, all of the contradictions of the capitalist system that made the period 1914-45 the most violent in human history are erupting once again. "
And the ABCs of Marxism are still the target of bizarre criticism . I just read this : " Marx's Legacy of Hatred ( communism and socialism a source of anti-Semitism ) by one Jim Peron ( 7-26-2006 ) :
" It seemed like a plausible thesis - the value of a product is determined by the amount of labor needed to produce it. Yet the idea may well have contributed to the appeal of Nazism and lead directly to the Holocaust ".
Really now !
A famous German scientist - famous for a major discovery in biochemistry in the early decades of the 20th century- mentions almost wistfully, in his auto-biography, this German Revolution led by Liebknecht and Luxemburg. If only it had succeeded , he reflected . ( I will check back on his name ) .
