In 1976 SWP presidential candidate Peter Camejo was more radical than young Bernie Sanders

" NPR found tape of a 1976 gubernatorial debate
where Sanders talked about income inequality — about "the richest
one-half of 1 percent" earning as much as the bottom 27 percent."

Just for the record : Bernie Sanders was perceived as a moderate " socialist " in 1976 by other significant forces on the left. The Socialist Workers Party was running firebrand Peter Camejo for president in 1976. They were distributing a now iconic " Bill of Rights for Working People ".

They did get on the ballot in Rhode Island where Bernie's " political revolution " just won yet another " surprise " victory in our open primary.

Peter Camejo was chosen to be Ralph Nader's Green Party running mate . Peter - who has since died of cancer- humorously described himself as a " watermelon " politician - " Green on the outside, red on the inside ".

Bernie Sanders and " Democracy Spring " is not about to fade away- not after that big Indiana win.

He could team up with Jill Stein, the presidential candidate of the Green Party in 2016.
