Nobel Peace Prize winner Barack Obama to visit Hiroshima

apology. In the U.S., the bombings have generally been seen as necessary
to end the war, and saving U.S. lives that would have been lost in a
land invasion of Japan."
The war was already lost for Japan. There was no necessity for a land invasion. And the Russians were on the way ?
I read what Professor Howard Zinn had to say about the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I agree that it was a crime against humanity. If the means justified the end , how is the U.S. ruling class in any way morally superior to ISIS ? How do tens of thousands of burned alive children compare to a a dozen, obscene, theatrical executions ?

I don't expect any " liberal drivel " from Nobel Peace Prize winner Barack Obama in Hiroshima . Did he ever read John Hersey's  book " Hiroshima " ? If President Obama really wants a nuclear free world, he can begin here with our military-industrial complex.Set a good example for " irresponsible " Iran .
There is a more cynical view of Obama's trip to Hiroshima : a message to enemies of our New Colonialism.
" We are still the greatest super power on earth. We have these terrible nuclear weapons and we can use them again." There is compassionate conservatism and also sardonic liberalism.
