I could not get very passionate over the Gina Raimondo public
relations fiasco- although from a local news and social media
perspective it seems to rival the Donald Trump gaffe on abortion "
punishment ".
Since when will a passionate campaign - honest or dishonest - to attract tourists to Rhode Island do any more for the state's economy than those frequently pimped state lottery tickets ?
We have to get back to the solid idea of " creating " wealth within the limits of growth and within reasonable population limits. I see even a " greening " of Bernie Sanders' " democratic socialism ".
How can any Rhode Islander not notice two things : the state's natural beauty-and that beauty marred by filth and litter on the beaches and in the public parks ?
Take a walk at Oakland Beach in Warwick( those disgusting cigarette butts ! ) or around Roger Williams Park in Providence - once a great tourist attraction- to see what I mean.
ALL American politicians are great believers in marketing- with little regard for the truth.
