a democratic Socialist myself and a registered Democrat in Rhode Island
I have been a critical supporter of Bernie Sanders . It is clear from
his extraordinary campaign for president that " socialism " in America
is less and less a dirty word. Democratic socialists around the world
did not think that the ideas and ideals of socialism-inspired now even
by Catholic Pope Francis- died an eternal death after the collapse of
the Stalinist Soviet Union.
Rather than just " rescue " Hillary on her Email crisis Sanders just told the truth about how most progressive people feel about the issue .
I have an Edward Snowden perspective on state secrets anyway. They are nothing less than a conspiracy behind the backs of the American people. American foreign policy should be much more open and democratic-not the shadowy intrigue of CIA crackpots- who brought us the Iran-Contra scandal.
And as Sanders makes it clear again and again, American democracy is incompatible with the economic and political domination of the ONE PERCENT plutocracy.
Question : Should a scorned Bernie Sanders form a viable third party ? I think so.
