@Ron Ruggieri Thanks, Ron. I just followed up your comment with some research and indeed it does appear David North is David W. Green, CEO and owner of Grand River Printing and Imaging. That he would be secretive of this is alarming and calls into question his character and leadership. That you were banned and censored from WSWS is unfortunately no surprise, and that there is indeed cult-ish elements at the SEP isn't either. I always found it hypocritical to be against censorship while simultaneously censoring free speech on your own platform. The true identity of David North also calls into question the party's often sectarian hostility towards other Left groups. The cult of personality is something socialists, knowing our history, cannot get involved in. My reservations about the SEP (and all strands of ML in general), despite finding agreement and importance in some of WSWS's work (such as coverage of the striking GM workers), now seems even more justified. PS. I agree with your position regarding certain socialists and their hostility of religion.
 

Thank you very much for your thoughtful response.  Other INSIDERS have described David North's SEP as a personality cult with more credibility than I .       

      However I do not equate " capitalist " with moral monster. I just get a chuckle out of Malcolm X' s heartfelt quote.  I think if David North is still an HONEST Marxist he has some explaining to do. It is very risky being critical of Zionism . SMEARS of anti- Semitism - with nothing substantial to back them up -are poison.

  My only surviving friend from the  " tumultuous 60s " is  Jewish and sympathetic to socialism and at best indifferent to Israel.  But it sounds too much like a cliché for me to mention it.
