As a lifelong INDEPENDENT democratic socialist I know better than to sniff out serious socialists in the Democrat Party. Even their resident " socialist " Bernie Sanders hardly rises to the bright pink shade of New Deal FDR partisans .
But the neo-liberal Democrats often do remind me of American Stalinism in their lock step GROUP THINK and their brainless smearing of people even on the Left as racist , sexist , homophobes, anti-Semites in the vicious tone of 1950s McCarthyism.
It is no venial sin to become contemptuous of the FREE SPEECH and FREE THOUGHT tradition of Western Civilization.
So much CENSORSHIP in the mainstream news media is the work of an arrogant ILLIBERAL LIBERAL elite. And since when can open hostility to Christianity win the hearts and souls of the common people voters ?
