As a democratic socialist I have observed for years hints of " fascism " in the ranks of liberals and socialists on the Left . There is a disturbing lack of respect for the FREE SPEECH , FREE THOUGHT tradition of Western Civilization. I recall reading Dinesh D'Souza's " Illiberal Liberalism " years ago and seeing a lot of truth in it .
But I have already read enough of his " # 1 New York Times Best Selling Author " book " The Big Lie ". Yes, I agree Trump is NOT
Hitler , the Republicans are not Nazis . But thinking that the " secret history of the Democrat Party " inspired Hitler and Nazism , and that Planned Parenthood and Margaret Sanger are just as diabolical as THEM is just dishonest , trashy scholarship.
George Orwell was right in seeing the seeds of totalitarianism in both left wing and right wing political parties.
And based on what is happening in the United States in 2019 traditional liberalism is dead. One star for D'Souza.
