Saint Thomas Aquinas was right : FAITH and REASON can be reconciled

Defending Science

Any sane citizen will respect science. But as a HUMAN institution SCIENCE is clearly yet another " god that failed ". The public " voices " of SCIENCE show a weird mixture of pro-militarism and anti-Christian bias. Consider this opinion remark by one Gene Van Son ( www.catholicstand.com , Jan. 27, 2017 :

" [ For Catholic news, Catholics should look to trusted Catholic news sources for honest and accurate reporting. It shouldn’t really be news to anyone by now that the predominantly secular-progressive media reports everything with a secular progressive bias.

The Democratic Party has become a party that condones and even praises immorality and murder (homosexuality, gender stupidity, abortion, and euthanasia), and their willing media lackeys seemingly can’t stoop low enough when it comes to tearing down traditional Christian values or Catholicism. ] "

I spot a book in the library titled : " The Republican War On Science ". This too is bias. So many professional scientists wear their allegiance to the Democrat Party on their sleeves . Yet they do not care to notice how neo-liberal Democrats have declared war on OBJECTIVE REALITY .

This is all too obvious in the daily mainstream news media reporting on sensitive " identity politics issues".

God may not be a Republican ( famous horror writer Stephen King wrote somewhere that a good scary horror story should bring out the CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN in you) . But God is certainly not a " progressive " Democrat .

Of course , the New Atheists lack the humility to SEE God in the cosmos or in human history . The greatest scientists -like Isaac Newton, Faraday , Pasteur, Einstein - would smile benevolently at them.

Even the late great secular humanist SOCIALIST scientist Linus Pauling - an early BAN THE BOMB voice - spoke highly of a papal encyclical of Pope John XXIII and wrote about building a bridge to the millions of Christians in the world.

As for Darwin and the Big Bang the Catholic Church made its peace with science a long time ago. Thomas Aquinas thought that Reason and Faith could be reconciled .
