Without being " insensitive " does any college journalist observe in print that all these melodramatic, very MIDDLE CLASS, identity politics victims, are the most self-centered, self-absorbed people on the planet earth ? The vast majority of ordinary people - many devout Christians - have a live and let live , love and let love, attitude toward the " different " ones , toward the " stranger " of the New Testament.
The old fashioned. pre-Vatican II Catholic focused on his or her sins not on the real or imagined vices of others. They were never surprised when some priest or Pope was unmasked as less than saintly.
Mawkish self-centeredness does not win over hearts and minds.
