It is characteristic of American liberalism -or pseudo-liberalism - never to go to the root of an issue . Why not point the finger at the very manufacturing of mass murder weapons ? From where comes the market demand ? Do working class people languish with a longing for automatic weapons ( to protect their considerable estates , private property, and liquid assets, home jewelry from lumpen THIEVES ? ) ?
The need for these weapons is a function of vast economic inequality and a MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX which is naturally antagonistic to the capitalist ruling classes of other nation states like Putin's Russia.
Red flag sanity tests ?
What about a president of the United States -with the support of his military staff- threatening to annihilate a whole country like North Korea ( more than a affluent suburban high school here ! ) ?
Rather than stigmatize the mentally ill as a perpetual threat to the community , why not provide better care and supervision for them ? No talk about reforming the mental health system or public education ? Many teachers are cracking up - give them weapons to bring to class - in their lunch boxes ?
