The idea of armed teachers gets more and more ludicrous the more you think about it . I recall the observation of the Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky that there are a surprising number of " freaks " in the teaching profession.
And I just read a reference to a Stephen King short story where the TEACHER takes a gun to class and shoots, in furious RAGE, most of his STUDENTS . Imagine a drunk teacher with a gun in his lunch box ?
To be sure , not a few public school teachers show signs of cracking up long before the hoped for HEAVEN of retirement . Where will these gun trained teachers keep their guns ? " Locked " in their desk ? How SAFE is that ? Will they wear a holster to class ?
What would the NECESSITY for armed teachers in the classroom say about our so very SANE SOCIETY ? Does capitalism turn life into a war of all against all , of each against all ? Soon LIFE will once again be brutish, nasty , and short- in a high tech Dark Age.
