Most subversive force- an intellectual question ?

The Monster that is the Green Monster

Science has learned in the past century that the basic stuff of the universe is a measurable quantity called mass-energy.  Clearly the principle of conservation of energy can be simply restated: you can't get something for nothing. And the logic of science is certainly applicable to capitalist ideas of wealth and job creation.

It is simply impossible for the ONE PERCENT plutocracy to be the very source of all the wealth they possess- with the daily mental and physical effort of the middle -working class a mere secondary factor to THEIR almost supernatural magic.

Does not the cult of celebrity brainwash us into thinking that a minority is an economic elite because they are special - not special because they are made wealthy by mindless, amoral, free market forces – or just born rich.

The Marxist concept of economic exploitation has as much validity as all other insights of science. It is the rational basis for establishing a reasonably egalitarian society.

Even from a purely Darwinian point of view Mother Nature does not create economic classes. No normal mother will feed her smart kid better than her beloved "dummy."

So am I right in thinking that the most subversive force on the planet is not any violent rebel army or even a million angry citizens in the streets. It is a simple question: Do the wealthy really merit their wealth?

Do you, the reader of this blog, think that God weighs in on this question? Will some Holy Book come to the moral rescue of our ruling class? But alas many of them have been recruited to the militant- and often equally elitist- and obnoxious -New Atheism. The crackpot Ayn Rand is their Pope. Her first Encyclical titled "The Virtue of Selfishness." For them God is just not politically correct anymore. So are we to believe that capitalism was "sanctified"at the very moment of the Big Bang?

For me H.P. Lovecraft has more credibility: Cosmic Horror was "sanctified" at the first moment of creation. But who really knows? Let us cultivate our earthly garden-with a spark of hope in human decency.

I am only sure that the Invisible Hand of Stock Market wisdom is not HIS.
