How many permanent ( ? ) refugees can Poland absorb ? How on earth are one million + refugees from any country in crisis a vote of confidence in its government and in its puffed up president ? This war might change the very meaning of nation-state boundaries in Europe. Hard to believe that the common people of the Ukraine - before the Russian invasion - living mostly contented lives - were languishing with a longing for a NATO alliance , a very dangerous alliance with effete, moribund , actually rotting NATO .
This is a very stupid international catastrophe. You don't tell non-belligerent civilians to charge Russian tanks with Molotov cocktails and clenched fists ! The Ukraine army is clearly no prize , very weak . Will these refugees ever be welcomed back to a Ukraine at peace ? How endearing are a million refugees after a year or two ? Is our own Mexican border now a LOVE-IN for the wretches of the earth ?
What is badly needed is a more sane international social order - not hostile nation states and rival imperialisms. To be sure , GOD IS NOT ON OUR SIDE !
